As our Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. You will play a key role in financial planning, cash flow management, and supporting our executive team with financial insights to drive strategic decision-making.
The Role
- Oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, US, Europe, and Latin America).
- Ensure compliance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and manage the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise tax compliance (VAT, sales tax, and corporate tax) and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during the year-end audit/review process.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow and implement best practices for working capital management.
- Provide financial insights to senior leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with multiple departments at Planned to enhance, optimize, and streamline operational processes.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in a Finance Department (Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, Controller), preferably in a high-growth tech company, marketplace, or SaaS environment.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and experience managing financial operations with multiple entities (multi-currency consolidation).
- Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in financial systems, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
- Experience with fundraising, M&A, or investor relations is a plus.
- Bilingualism (French / English)
