We're looking for a sharp and proactive Software QA Engineer to join our fast-paced, startup. You'll work closely with the Senior QA Engineer and the entire development team to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives on ambiguity, enjoys getting their hands dirty, and wants to make a significant impact in a collaborative, agile setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the development team to understand requirements, provide early feedback on potential issues.
  • Execute a variety of testing types, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Perform exploratory and ad-hoc testing to identify issues and edge cases.
  • Work in both Windows and Linux environments, utilizing the command line and Bash scripting for testing and automation tasks.
  • Document, track, and manage software defects from discovery to resolution.
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and tools as needed in our dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Test Engineering role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with the command line interface (CLI) and Bash scripting.
  • Experience testing both desktop (Windows and Linux) and web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with various testing methodologies.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative, and collaborative agile environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a startup setting and handle ambiguous situations with a can-do attitude.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in your work, with a keen eye for subtle discrepancies.
  • Critical and Creative Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, capable of thinking outside the box to uncover potential issues.
  • Quick Learner: Ability to quickly understand complex systems, new technologies, and business logic.
  • Comfort with AI: Eagerness to co-create with AI to improve your work and enhance your productivity.

Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • A foundational understanding of how GPU and CPU are used for different computer processes.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, particularly TCP/IP.
  • Experience with test automation tools or frameworks.
