At Dyania Health, interns get the chance to invent and apply cutting-edge NLP technology with the aim of transforming the way clinical trials are conducted. You will use large pretrained language models to analyze clinical text data and extract useful information from it. There is a tremendous range of interesting research questions in that space, and you will be expected to write a paper summarizing your results and publish it in a top-tier NLP conference. You will work alongside team members with deep technical expertise in NLP and machine learning, as well as top medical professionals (MDs, pharmacology PhDs, and others). The ideal candidate will have strong foundations in computer science and ML/NLP, exceptional analytical ability, tolerance for ambiguity, good communication skills, and most importantly, a strong desire to learn and grow.

- Enrolled in a graduate program (preferably a PhD program) in a field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Bioinformatics
- Practical experience with training and evaluating transformer models using Python-based ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch and HuggingFace
- Fluency in Python
- Background in Bioinformatics
- Practical experience parallelizing training and inference for large models using libraries such as DeepSpeed
- Publications in top-tier NLP conferences
- Invent, build, evaluate, and deploy algorithms and models to accurately extract medical information from structured and unstructured data sources
- Analyze performance results and convey your analyses to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct research and publish your findings at relevant scientific venues
