We're looking for a Developer Productivity Intern to help improve the way our engineering team builds software. In this role, you'll work on AI related developer tools — writing Claude skills and commands, building custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to integrate Claude with our internal data and systems, and exploring workflows around cloud-based Claude agents. You'll also help establish metrics and tracking to measure adoption of AI tools and the impact on engineering productivity.

You will collaborate with engineers across the organization to understand pain points in their development workflows and build tooling that meaningfully accelerates their work. This is a high-impact internship for someone who is excited about the intersection of AI and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claude Skills & Commands: Design and implement custom Claude skills and slash commands that automate common engineering workflows and surface relevant context.

  • MCP Server Development: Build custom MCP servers that connect Claude to internal tools and data — for example, an MCP server that lets Claude triage and query rosbags from Foxglove.

  • Cloud Agent Workflows: Explore and set up workflows using cloud-based Claude agents (e.g., Claude Code) to automate tasks like code review, testing, and documentation.

  • Adoption & Impact Tracking: Define and instrument metrics to measure AI tool adoption across the engineering team and assess the impact on developer productivity.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with autonomy and software teams to respond to a wide range of workflow and tooling needs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong skills in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, C++).

  • Working understanding of the capabilities and limitations of large language models, including how to use them effectively in practice.

  • Familiarity with modern development tooling: Git, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working across teams in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or other LLM based coding assistants.

  • Familiarity with MCP or building other tool integrations for LLMs.

  • Experience with robotics or autonomous vehicles (ROS/ROS2).
