Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Deployment Engineer to manage and oversee all deployment, verification and validation activities of AeroVect's autonomous driving stack.
In this leadership role, you will lead and grow the team of Field Robotics Engineers and Autonomy Test Engineers, ensuring the successful deployment and optimization of our autonomous vehicles for airport logistics. Your expertise in robotics and autonomous systems will be crucial in guiding your team through complex challenges and delivering high-quality results.
This opportunity offers a seasoned leader the chance to develop a market-defining enterprise product that combines autonomous vehicle technology with a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) business model. This role also involves working very closely with the autonomy engineering team.
Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and lead the deployment team, define clear goals, and monitor team performance to meet project goals and deadlines.
Oversee all deployment activities of the autonomous vehicles at our ATL customer site and coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute deployment schedules efficiently.
Develop and coordinate comprehensive testing plans and schedules ensuring thorough testing of the autonomous system to validate performance and safety standards.
Lead the triage of incidents and issues arising from testing and collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate quick resolution of issues.
Implement best practices for deployment and testing methodologies and continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and team productivity.
Work closely with hardware and software teams to integrate new features and improvements.
Provide key technical insights to guide product development and optimization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in robotics or the autonomous vehicles industry.
Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
Strong understanding of autonomous systems, including both hardware and software components.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a strong sense of ownership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies like JIRA, etc
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience in establishing new deployment processes and setting up the groundwork for large-scale deployments of autonomous systems in the real world.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Experience in incident management and root-cause analysis techniques.
Experience in managing software releases, including planning, coordination, and execution of release processes.
Experience in data analytics with the ability to interpret data to enhance deployment strategies and optimize system performance.
Experience in startup environments, demonstrating adaptability to rapidly changing priorities
Familiarity with ROS2, C++, Git, and Linux operating systems.
